| A two volume facsimile of the 1681 English translation of Cerebri Anatome. This was the first, and now very rare, English translation of The Anatomy of the Brain and the Description und Use of the Nerves in The Remaining Medical Works of that Famous and Renowned Dr. Thomas Willis ("Englished in 1681 by Samuel Pordage, Esquire").
Description: Folio. Volume I includes an introduction by William Feindel, notes on the translation and bibliographic survey, all set in 16-pt Bembo and printed at The Stinehour Press. Volume II is the facsimile, printed by Meriden Gravure. The Christopher Wren drawings of the nervous system in the facsimile were printed on English handmade paper. The title page in each volume feature a woodcut of the Willis coat of arms made by Fritz Kredel (repeated as a watermark in the Guarro paper). Limited to 2,000 sets. Bound in a limp case made of Linson vellum paper, with a matching slipcase.
