ONCE-UPON-A-TYNE
The Angling Art and Philosophy of Thomas Bewick
Antiquarian Press for the Atlantic Salmon Assoc, 1977
Description: Oblong quarto, 105 pp. Numerous reproductions of Bewisk images related to angling. Issued in cloth-covered boards. An edition of 1,000 copies signed by author of the introduction, David M. Lang of the Thomas Bewick Association.

Notes: "Dave Lank from Montreal asked me to do a book for his Atlantic Salmon Association of the wood engravings of Thomas Bewick relating to fishing. It turned out to be a delightful book, with much input from Dave, and became my second book in the Fifty Books-of-the-Year. Set in Monotype Bell, it was printed letterpress on Mohawk Superfine by A. Colish in New York under the loving attention of Bert Clarke, who used to run the Thistle Press, where he did fine letterpress printing for the Grolier Club, Limited Editions Club, and others of that ilk. I mention him because he was a beautiful, gentle man who loved printing and was an inspiration to me."
