Ann Vicente has been making paper for over 20 years, and one-of-a-kind and small-edition artist's books for the past decade. Working from a small studio on Charles Street in Vancouver's Commercial Drive neighborhood, she enjoys experimenting with papermaking and innovative book structures. She also gives classes in papermaking and non-adhesive book structures.

Ann is currently working on a four-volume series of haiku collections, each dedicated to —and printed on paper specially made to evoke—one of the seasons. Each volume is published in an edition of 10 copies, with the pages "bound" into a cloth cover using a non-adhesive origami-spine structure. Each volume also features a unique custom-made precious metal closure, and a clear acrylic display slipcase. Fall was published in 2002; Winter will be issued in early 2005.
